Franklin Crossing was originally designed as a mixed-use residential development by the Canada Lands Company, under an agreement approved by the City of Moncton in October 2004.

In 2013 the entire 33-acre property was purchased from Canada Lands by Les Enterprises Mapoma Ltée, a locally-based land holding company. Since then, 12 high-quality semi-detached residential units have been constructed by the affiliated company DMS Holdings Ltd. – adding to the 28 existing homes built earlier on Grand Trunk and Croasdale Streets.
